I am a very creative person and I love expressing my creativity through art and fashion. I love drawing and creating artworks; many of my works are multimedia; combining drawing, painting, photography and collage. I went to Bridge House School and while I was there I was very involved in art, painting and photography. Photography is also one of my passions. I completed a 2 year photography course where I explored black and white photography as well as developing and printing my own photographs.
I completed a 3 year fashion design course at Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design and graduated with merit in December 2011. I am interested in both designing and fashion photography. My work is all about femininity with an aspect of fun and playfulness and undercut with sophisticated elegance. My aesthetic caters for young women with a feminine style as it is about beautiful construction and simple elegance. For my third year range I was inspired by 19th century dress as well as contemporary influences, my range has a vintage country feel. I incorporated florals with plains and cotton twills with sheer chiffons. I also made use of feminine details like frills, gathers, pleats, ribbons and bows.
Since I graduated I have created my own clothing label Robyn-Anne Designs, specializing in custom made Eveningwear and special occasion wear. I really enjoy working with individual clients. I love the creative process, meeting and getting to know the client, combining their style with my ideas and creative insight and then finally bringing the sketch to life with a beautifully constructed garment.
I am currently stocking Lily Boutique in Stellenbosch with my daywear collection. My collection caters for stylish young women. I really enjoy expressing my style and creativity through my designs while keeping my target market in mind and keeping up with the current trends.
